New Zealand To Ban Amalgam Fillings: “They Give You Cancer”

<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-weight: normal;">New Zealand has announced plans to ban the use of amalgam fillings, claiming that the mercury used in the fillings can cause cancer and other adverse health issues.<br> <br>Following in the footsteps of the <a href="https://ec.europa.eu/health/scientific_committees/consultations/public_consultations/scenihr_consultation_24_en">European Union (EU)</a> who are also banning amalgam fillings, the New Zealand government will make it illegal for dentists to use the mercury-based fillings in children and pregnant or breast-feeding women.</span></h4>
