There’s not a lot of commonality between the former Obama administration and the Trump-led White House, but there is one Christmas tradition First Lady Melania Trump plans to continue.

This year, in the East Wing of the White House, Trump plans to honor service members and their families with a Gold Star Family Tree, decorated with patriotic ribbons and gold stars, CBS News reported.

With the Gold Star Family Tree, the Trumps will be continuing a holiday tradition former First Lady Michelle Obama participated in each year. Every Christmas, the Obamas erected a similar tree as a tribute to America’s fallen heroes, according to The Independent.
Here’s what Obama said about the military during the 2012 unveiling:

“I have said this many times before and I will say it again, because I can’t say it enough — our military families truly represent the very best that this country has to offer. And I’ve seen it up close. You all do so much for this country, and you do it with such amazing poise and grace.”
Over the holidays, the first lady will pay tribute to former President Ronald Reagan by displaying the 40th president’s china in the China Room, and the White House library will house former President Franklin D. Roosevelt’s 1866 edition of “A Christmas Carol,” CBS reported.

Trump plans to decorate the Blue Room, which is home to the official White House Christmas tree, with glass ornaments depicting the seal of every state and territory in the U.S. And the State Dining Room, of course, will be home to the traditional gingerbread house, this year featuring Trump’s signature wreaths
